But why water for exercise?
- You weigh only ten per cent of your body weight in water, for example: a 10-stone woman weighs only 1 stone, so physical strain is kept to a minimum.
- Exercising in water allows you to workout when conditions otherwise would not allow.
- No stress on joints and muscles.
- Multiple muscles can be worked at the same time, to tone and strengthen.
- Freedom, with no risk of falling and hurting yourself.
- No jarring on the spine
- Being active can delay as much as possible the process of getting old, and it's the perfect fitness workout for people with arthritis and other chronic pain.
- And it's FUN!

Exercising in water helps you feel
- Flexible - You can bend and move your body in water in ways you can’t on land.
- Strong - Working against the water will help your body get stronger.
- At less risk of injury - Being in water makes your body float. This keeps your joints from being pounded or jarred and helps prevent sore muscles and injury.
