OTHER PROGRAMS: Healing Dance

Fluid and Dynamic

Healing Dance is an exhilarating way to connect the mind and body.

It not only improves your breathing, posture, flexibility, agility, but also your interaction with the water.

Healing Dance has enormous therapeutic value - the dance is an inspirational, and creative form of expressing physical and mental freedom, emotion, and joy .

"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science." Albert Einstein

How Was Healing Dance Developed?

Alexander Georgeakopoulos who was a professional and talented ballet dancer created Healing Dance in 1993 in Harbin Springs, California.

Alexander was influenced not only by his background in ballet and Trager Work, but also by the ways in which the body and water interact in movement.

Alexander has created a unique dance that takes place above and under water. The dynamic movements consist of extensions, stretches, flexions, and release not only on the physical level, but allow the deepest states of relaxation and meditation to be experienced.

How does it work?

The Healing Dance session starts above water, and as the breath becomes more relaxed, a nose-clip is slipped on, and your underwater journey begins.

As you start to exhale I will submerge, and gently move, stretch and massage your body as you flow above and below the water.

Healing Dance is your personal journey of exploring you in the water. The sooner you begin, the sooner you'll be open to flowing and dancing not only in water, but with life.

Who does it benefit?

For those who would like to be inspired!

The benefits of Healing Dance are not just for those anxious about the water. However, both competitive, and recreational swimmers, professional dancers, and gymnasts who have received Healing Dance tell us that they became more relaxed with their breathing; more flowing, and less constricted with their movements.

Their activity for them, has become more enjoyable, and free from physical and mental stress.

"The greatest discovery of my generation is that a human being can alter his life by altering his attitudes of mind." William James US Pragmatist philosopher & psychologist (1842 - 1910)
